Our Mission
CALM works with families, communities and local Governments, to promote
and ensure the observance of the rights of children. Using a Rights
Based Approach, children are assisted to shape their own future, reach
their full potential and participate in the development of their communities.
Our Vision
To see every child enjoy their rights – Survival, Development,
Provision, Protection, Participation, Entitlement and Responsibility
– as enshrined in the International Convention on the Rights
of the Child and the Ugandan Constitution.
What
we do
• Provide basic essential needs and support the child-headed
households in the community
• Improve people’s knowledge on HIV/AIDS and skills
to provide proper health care, appropriate nutrition, household
hygiene and sanitation
• Increase access to education through primary, secondary,
tertiary and University schooling
• Increase access to vocational skills training available
at vocational skills training centres
• Strengthen orphans’ abilities to initiate and maintain
income-generating activities
• Increase awareness and observance of children rights among
the targeted families and communities.
