Welcome to CALM Africa website
Reg No: S5914/5755

CALM Africa stands for Children's Rights Advocacy and Lobby Mission. It's a community based, charitable organisation that focuses on the promotion, observance and protection of the rights of children especially the poorest and most vulnerable children in Africa.
To CALM Africa, every child matters.

Our Mission

CALM works with families, communities and local Governments, to promote and ensure the observance of the rights of children. Using a Rights Based Approach, children are assisted to shape their own future, reach their full potential and participate in the development of their communities.

Our Vision
To see every child enjoy their rights – Survival, Development, Provision, Protection, Participation, Entitlement and Responsibility – as enshrined in the International Convention on the Rights of the Child and the Ugandan Constitution.

What we do
• Provide basic essential needs and support the child-headed households in the community
• Improve people’s knowledge on HIV/AIDS and skills to provide proper health care, appropriate nutrition, household hygiene and sanitation
• Increase access to education through primary, secondary, tertiary and University schooling
• Increase access to vocational skills training available at vocational skills training centres
• Strengthen orphans’ abilities to initiate and maintain income-generating activities
• Increase awareness and observance of children rights among the targeted families and communities.

Calm Africa News Letter
CALM Africa has managed to stay on course because of the continued support of our partners, especially Children First Uganda and volunteers from the UK, USA and Canada. Read this newsletter and the end of year statement to get deeper insights into what CALM Africa registered in 2011 and the plans thereafter.
